Meet The Band
STEVE SPENCER - GUITAR
 |
Steve was first inspired to take up the guitar by the original glam
rock bands of the seventies. He is not as tall as he was in those days due
to the current lack of availability of platform shoes. In the early
eighties he shot to fame (in the Ashford area) as the lead guitarist and
co-songwriter in Bollweevil, the band who released the legendary NWOBHM
single Rock Solid (never 'eard of it mate). Unfortunately along with the
limited fame came a non-existent fortune so is still waiting for the big
house, flash car, recording studio etc.
His on stage skills have
included stamping out smouldering curtains, ignited by a whole gig's worth
of flashpots going off at the beginning of the set, while still holding
down a tight guitar intro. |
CHRIS EIO - DRUMS AND BACKING VOCALS
 |
Chris plays drums and sings backing vocals in the band. He is of Danish
origin and is probably the only person in the UK to be named after a
London postcode. He was brought up on the Isle of Man where he started to
play the drums at the age of 11 after several failed attempts to win the
TT Races. He is described as the 'Animal' of the band (but with much less
hair).
A cunning linguist, Chris speaks four languages which he
hopes will come in useful during the band's forthcoming 2037 World Tour.
His hobbies include holding down a full time job, being a heavy metal
groupie and extreme coin collecting.
Chris has been crowned world
Uncle Fester lookalike champion five times, a feat not even achieved by
Uncle Fester himself! |
PHIL MILLER - GUITAR
|

|
Phil has been playing guitar for a long time. He has
played alongside some of the great names in pop music, the Beatles, the
Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan to name but a few in his record
collection..
However, it was when he heard Eric Clapton for the
first time that his ears were truly opened to the real joy of the electric
guitar. So inspired in fact that he took up bass guitar to play in a local
blues band.
In the end the limits of his range of walking bass
lines made him return to the 6 string guitar. Realising that he would
never play like John McLaughlin or be very popular even if he managed it,
Phil returned to playing the great party music that Strata are famous
for..
Phil now shares the responsibilty of playing lines, solos and
fills with Steve, complementing the excellent rhythm and vocal sections of
the band. |
JOHN MacCORMACK - VOCALS
|

|
John was born in the North Country, the youngest of six children,
where he spent his childhood hanging around the local bars trying to
collect bottle tops for his extensive collection. Unliked by all of the
other children, his mother and father pretended they could only speak
French so they didn’t have to talk to him. He was a lonely child, shunned
by his peers, but his luck was to change for the worst when his mother and
father ran away from home and he was sent to live with his Aunt Raquel.
Living in the cellar in a large house in Balham John spent his days oiling
the bodies of young ladies who did favours for elderly city gents.
Tortured night after night by the constant laughter and the relentless
screams and sounds of whips, John would hide himself in the scullery and
weep. He knew it would take a man of great courage and resolve to break
free from this hell so John remained there for a long time until he joined
Strata, where he now spends his days gently warbling down a microphone.

T-1000 - BASS GUITAR
 |
T-1000 is a top of the range shape-shifting killing machine sent
back from the future to prevent the rise of the resistance.
Owing to a programming error, he prevented the rise of the wrong
resistance and was subsequently fired from his position as
murderer-in-chief at Robots From The Future R Us.
He ended up in the hands of a fisherman who programmed him to find
bass. He's never looked back, having picked up the first bass he
found and using it to play his way into Strata.
T-1000 has taken many shapes and has so far not decided on his final
human form..... |
